Getting to Murray Bridge

Murray Bridge is located just 70km east of Adelaide and is an easy 60 minute drive from the city of Adelaide, South Australia!

By Car

Adelaide to Murray Bridge (70km – 1 hour approx.)

  • Follow the South Eastern Freeway out of Adelaide towards Melbourne
  • Take the Murray Bridge Exit off the Freeway (Next one after the Monarto Exit)
  • Follow this road (Adelaide Road) at Murray Bridge

Murray Bridge via Hahndorf and Mannum

  • Follow the South Eastern Freeway out of Adelaide towards Melbourne
  • Exit at Hahndorf and enjoy this wonderful and popular German town experience
  • Head towards Woodside and Mt Torrens then turn off towards Tungkillo and down to Mannum (continue straight passing Murray Bridge turnoff)
  • Enjoy a look around Mannum and then head out either over the ferry or back out towards Murray Bridge turnoff (towards Palmer)

Murray Bridge via Mount Barker, Strathalbyn and Langhorne Creek and Tailem Bend

  • Follow the South Eastern Freeway out of Adelaide towards Melbourne
  • Turnoff at the Mount Barker exit and head towards the historic town of Strathalbyn
  • From there head towards the wine region of Langhorne Creek
  • Head towards Wellington, then on the free 24 hour ferry over to Tailem Bend (if Wellington Ferry is busy, turn left past the Wellington Hotel and head towards Murray Bridge)
  • Get on the free 24 hour Tailem Bend ferry and head towards Murray Bridge via Jervois
